This presentation will provide an overview of the dynamics and evolution of labour regulation, collective bargaining and social partnership in Canada. It will highlight a number of key trends in individual and collective labour regulation and the challenges that they imply for industrial relations practitioners, public policy makers and researchers. In so doing, Professors Charest and Murray will also explore, in interaction with researchers and students, some of the similarities and differences with the Chinese context and the issues of common interest.

主讲嘉宾简介:
Professor Jean Charest is Director of the School of Industrial Relations at University of Montreal (ERIUM). He is also a research coordinator in the Research Centre on Globalization and Work (CRIMT). Professor Charest has published numerous books and articles on vocational training, public policies on work, social partnership and the construction industry.
Gregor Murray is a professor in the School of Industrial Relations at University of Montreal where he holds the Canada Research Chair on Globalization and Work. He is also Director of the Interuniversity Research Centre on Globalization and Work (CRIMT - www.crimt.org <http://www.crimt.org/> ). Professor Murray has published numerous books and articles on public policies on work, union renewal, globalization and work, and labour law.
