Bravo! On the evening of March 13, 2019 World Chess Team Championship held in Astana, Kazakhstan ended the eighth round (i.e., the penultimate round) of contention. The Chinese women's team, consisting of Tan Zhongyi, Huang Qian, Lei Tingjie, Shen Yang and Ding Yixin, beat the American women's team by 3-1, got eight-match winning streak and clinched the championship one round in advance. It is also the fourth time that the Chinese women team has won the World Chess Team Championship after winning three consecutive titles in 2007, 2009 and 2011.

The second from left is Tan Zhongyi

Tan zhongyi, a 2009 alumnus of the School of Law of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, is a Women Grandmaster and Chinese Women's Chess Team Athlete. In 1997 she began to learn chess and won the World Junior Championship in 2000, Women's World Chess Team Championship in 2011, Olympic Chess Team Championship in 2016, and Women's World Chess Championship in 2017. The third from the left in the front row is Tan Zhongyi

In 2014, Tan Zhongyi started to serve as a part-time coach of Chongqing Qi Yuan. In 2015, she became an assistant coach of the national team. In 2017, on the centennial anniversary of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, School of Law organized the first Outstanding Alumni Award, and Tan Zhongyi, as a 2009 alumnus of School of Law, won this award.

"Born for chess, I never regret" and " With mellow temperament, XiaoTan is so warm" are sentences perfectly match Tan Zhongyi. She is warm but not in an excessive way, full of strength but very gentle as well. Tan Zhongyi said "the target is very important. Make an achievable goal, and then strive for it" This is not only her motto, but also her advice to all students in School of Law. “I also wish all students to live in love, have fun and be warm.”
