And she extended warm congratulations to the teachers who have been awarded.
Then in retrospect, she reviewed the achievements and progress SUFE made since its resumption in 1978, which was summed up into three reasons: first was the pursuit of excellence and the spirit of research; second was to adhere to the problem-based and demand-oriented method in research; third was to continuously improve scientific research management mechanism. Afterwards, she emphasized that currently we should fully understand the strategic position of scientific research work in the construction of high-level universities, adapt to the new normal, seize new opportunities, meet new challenges, and make new breakthroughs.
Therefore, she expressed hopes for the whole school. Generally speaking, that was to adhere to the “Three Combinations”: first, to adhere to combination of the scientific research and the service to our country; second, to adhere to combination of the scientific research and talent cultivation; third, to adhere to combination of the results and the talents. Finally, President Fan wished SUFE to accelerate the construction of "double first-class", seize opportunities, take advantage of times and become a high-level renowned international research university with distinctively financial characteristics.
