Selection Notice of the Fourteenth ‘CIETAC Cup’

CIETAC Cup International Commercial Arbitration Moot (‘CIETAC Cup’) is organized by China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). The competition, in which all papers and oral arguments are English, aims to improve participating students’ international commercial arbitration theory, practice and language skills. The Fourteenth ‘CIETAC Cup’ will be hold in Beijing, December of this year. The top two teams will be awarded to the Champion and the Runner-up title of ‘CIETAC Cup’. Not only are there other awards like ‘Best Debater’, ‘Team Contribution’, etc., but also it issued a ‘Certificate of Participation’ for every team member to encourage the competition and contestants. What’s more, the Champion will be recommended to participate in 24th Willem C. Vis Moot (Vienna, Austria, March 2017), and the Runner-up will be recommended to participate in 14th Vis East Moot (Hong Kong, March 2017).

The 13th ‘CIETAC Cup’ has attracted for 39 teams from different schools, over 300 team members, in which SUFE team wined the No. 6 place with great strength, calm and positive attitude, and strong response.

This year, decided to participate in the 14th ‘CIETAC Cup’, SUFE Law School want to select team members among all Law School students. Welcome to sign up!

I. Application requirements: solid legal profession, strong learning ability and team spirit, fluent in English both oral and written, adequate spare time to prepare for the competition (a priority to those who have similar moot experience).

II. Selection Method:

1. Documents submission: you need to submit a case fact outline in Chinese according to the attached case. The outline’ words are not required. At the same time, a personal resume in English is a must. The two documents should be sent to email: lawsufe@163.com before 8 p.m. June 15th.

2. Interview: Choose the role of Applicant or Respondent according to the attached case to present your views in English. The time and place for interview will be informed via message or email.
