On Dec. 5^th, 2014, National Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization held the 2014 National Training of Judges and Lawyers in North Zhongshan Road Campus in order to improve practicing ability, advance the construction of lawyers’ quality and promote quality of legal service. This training was co-catered by SHUFE Law and Shanghai Bar Association. About 250 lawyers attended the 2014 National Training of Judges and Lawyers.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Associate Professor Zhou Jiepu, General Party Branch Secretary of SHUFE Law. Professor Wang Shuyi, Co-director of National Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization, vice-president of Chinese Environmental Protection Law Society, Professor Zhen Shaohua, Executive Deputy Dean of SHUFE Graduate School, Dean of SHUFE Law, Liu Xiaohe, General Associate Secretary of Shanghai Bar Association, Executive Deputy Dean of Lawyer Studies attended opening ceremony and delivered speeches separately. The two days training concluded eight lectures on the topic of judicial civilization and legal reformation. Professor Chen Guanzhong of China University of Politics and Law explained issues about the improvement of judgment structure and defending structure. Professor Lin Lihong of Wuhan University accurately and incisively analyzed the newly amended PRC of Administrative Procedure Law on the perspective of legislative purpose, judicial system, lawsuit scope and the burden of proof. Professor Wang Shuyi of SHUFE Law explained judicial specialization of environmental protection law. Professor Zhang Wenxian of Vice-president of China Law Society emphasize的、 the importance of persistence of Chinese legal construction’s core value based on profound interpretation of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 18^th Central Committee. Professor Zhang Baoshen, vice president of China University of Politics and Law, interpreted the understanding and application of newly amended PRC Criminal Procedure Law. Professor Liu Jinwei from China University of Politics and Law remarked the Chinese civil law procedure and its future direction. Professor Jiang Guohua of Wuhan University Law School delivered speech about his own understanding and sentiments of legal reformation.

Experts and lawyers delivered speeches about frontier legal issues based on their practice as a lawyer. Lawyers who attended this training reflected that the two days National Training of Judges and Lawyers would be very helpful to understanding the application of law and their working practice for the topic of this training was brand new and the content was quite advanced.

In the end of the 2014 National Training of Judges and Lawyers, associate professor Ge Weijun of SHUFE Law, director of SHUFE Juris Master Center made an excellent summary of this two days training and expressed heartfelt gratitude to guide and hardworking of Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization and Shanghai Bar Association on behalf of SHUFE Law.
