The 21st Annual CIETAC International Commercial Arbitration Moot was successfully held in Beijing from Nov. 18 to Nov. 22. SHUFE Law School sent a team of eight to participate in this competition and it is the first time in SHUFE Law history to play in such moot.
The Arbitration Team, led by Ms. Carrie Shang, esq., and with the rest of the members including Zhou Tingting, Dong Wenxin, Gu Wanyi, Zhang Hongye, Zhao Yaxi, Gu Bochao and Yu Wenting, participated in the oral advocacy rounds.

During the oral advocacy rounds, our team played against teams from University of International Business and Economics, Beijing International Studies University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. All the teams we encountered had consistent records of participating in the CIETAC moot and consisting of very experienced senior team members, but SHUFE Law team displayed adequate levels of professionalism and skill when arguing with them in front of different arbitration tribunals.
Regrettably, our team did not make it to the Elimination Round. Nonetheless, we seized the opportunity to develop friendship with Mr. Tomas Hulle, a reputable arbitrator from Cezch Republic, who showed a great interest in developing further cooperation with SHUFE Law Arbitration Team.
