On Nov.20^th, 2013, Professor Liu Jingwei from China University of Politics and Law delivered a significant speech named “The Evolution of the Land Rights System in Contemporary China” to SHUFE Law students. Professor Yang Feng hosted the lecture and expressed a warm welcome to Professor Liu.
 

At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Liu stressed the importance of getting close to the social reality of China. He said, college students should learn more about society, not just pay attention to the courses in campus. Therefore obtaining the knowledge of the history and evolution of the land rights system is also important for students when they comprehend the land policy.
 

Then Professor Liu gave out the main content of the lecture. He firstly explained some complex problems such as ownership of the land. By presenting the history of the policy, he illustrated the single structure of the land policy before the land reform and diversification of the land rights after the reform. In order to make it easier to understand, he listed lots of articles of law in the lecture. Moreover, Professor Liu explained the system and presented situation of the land utilization right in China nowadays.
 

At the end of the lecture, students and teachers actively raised their questions and thoughts on the land rights. Professor Yang Feng then stressed the importance of learning history and expressed many thanks to Professor Liu at the same time. He invited Liu to visit SHUFE Law more frequently and to give more lectures to SHUFE Law students.
