This uniquely designed selection consisted of two sections. During the individual interview, each candidate was asked to make a self-introduction, deliver an impromptu speech and answer the questions from the bench. The various topics covered including career planning, prospect of Chinese local fashion industry, educational opportunities for financial challenged students, Children’s Day celebration, crisis of confidence faced by Red Cross, craze for becoming civil servant and immigration trend, etc. Both their awareness to the current issues and original thoughts were impressive.

The second section was an exciting group interview. All candidates were divided into two groups and assigned an either-or scenario. Each team shall justify their unanimous choice through a 10-minute presentation and be able to welcome tough challenges from the judges. The highlight of this selection came when teams were asked to build architectural models with very limited materials. It was a real test for their teamwork ability and creativity.

Cheers to the “architects”

All candidates have shown their passion, flexibility, sharing personality and proven to be logical thinkers in the selection. Result of this selection will come out within one day or two. We are looking forward to their excellent performance in the subsequent training session. Jessup SHUFE decided to organize a second round of selection for the 12th Jessup Competition (Chinese National Round) at the beginning of the next semester with a professional training program soon after that. Anyone who has interest in international public law and expects to practice legal skills is warmly welcome then.
