On the evening of March 23th, SHUFE Law ushered in its first lecture of 2013 Legal Forum. Hosted by Deputy Dean Professor Ma Hong, the lecture was delivered by A/Professor Zhu Qingyu and was titled “Seeking for the Position of Legal Education: Comparing with the Republic of China”.
Zhu Qingyu, an associated professor in China University of Political Science and Law, is well known for his great dedication in comparative jurisprudence. During the talk, Zhu provided a valuable insight into the legal education in the Republican period. He highly appreciated the strict evaluation system of National Southwestern Associated University, which is acknowledged to have the best education at that time. However, he also pointed out the dark side of the legal education in this period, which is usually ignored. In the end, Zhu answered students’ questions by sharing his thoughts concerning how China should reform its system of legal education.
