Moot court is an extracurricular activity at many law schools in which participants take part in simulated court proceedings, usually to include drafting briefs and participating in oral argument. It enjoys an increasing popularity at law schools all over the world. In his lecture, Mr. Nevard provided us with a brief introduction of moot court and divided the common features of mooting into three essential parts: Rules, Written Arguments and Oral Submissions. Furthermore, He stressed on the marking schedule, from which we got a deep perception of the mooting world.
After the lecture, there was an active interaction between Mr. Nevard and the audience. Many questions were raised and Mr. Nevard patiently gave the answers to all of them. Some of the students also shared with others their experience of attending a mooting competition in Beijing. It turned out to be an extremely fruitful discussion as SHUFE Law talents not only gained new perspectives on mooting, but learned many practical skills as well.
