SHUFE Law has announced the appointment of Stephen C. Frye to SHUFE Law faculty as an assistant professor of law. Professor Frye’s research and teaching focus primarily on international business law, tax law, and legal English.
Frye earned his B.A. degree in Humanities, graduating from the Michigan State University in 2000 where he attended as the President of the University Apartments Advisory Board. Following that, he pursued his J.D. degree at University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Prior to his faculty appointment at SHUFE Law, Professor Frye was an instructor teaching courses in International Commerce, Global Business Communication and Negotiation at Kyunghee University in South Korea.
“We are delighted to welcome Steve to join the SHUFE Law community,” said Dean Professor Zheng Shaohua. “I’m excited that he will offer our LL.M students and Common Law students a course on international business transaction law. While this is a topic of great importance to the study of international economic law, there are only a handful of law schools in the country that currently teach it by foreign professors. Steve is one of these very few professors possessing the requisite knowledge to do so.”
Besides, it is worth mentioning that Professor Frye is an expert in Asian Culture and History, which enables him to get accustomed to new surroundings easily. “I am thrilled to be joining the SHUFE Law faculty”, said Frye. “During my time of studying Asian History, I was dreaming of coming to Shanghai to study Chinese and its legal culture. It is my privilege of being a part of this dynamic legal community as a faculty member.”
